West Ham defender Issa Diop says last summer was the right time to leave France.

Diop left Toulouse for the Hammers and has impressed so far this season in England.

He told Foot Mercato: "I had a good experience of my departure.

"West Ham is a step up. It's a club where I feel very good, where I was well received. I have adapted very well to the club and I am very happy with it.

"TFC is my training club. Toulouse is my birthplace. I only have good memories there, although I would have preferred to do more things for the club.

"I continue to follow TFC, I watch every game."

Diop added: "I think it was the right time to leave. West Ham is the club that wanted me the most, where there was the most affinity."
