West Ham defender Issa Diop offers no excuses for Bournemouth defeat

West Ham defender Issa Diop admits they fell short of standards for defeat to Bournemouth.

Diop couldn't put his finger on why the Hammers failed to attack the contest with the same gusto they managed against Arsenal a week ago, and recognised a swift return to form is necessary.

“It was disappointing because we played without intensity and lost an important game," the No23 told whufc.com.

“I don't know why that was, but we are very disappointed, and we only had a few chances so we need to work hard this week to go to the next game.

“When you have a good moment [like we did at the start of the second half] you need to score, we didn't and they scored in a bad moment for them. That's football.

“We need to win the game against WImbledon in the FA Cup next week now, so we'll work hard this week and focus on that."
