West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna not thinking about Serie A return

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna has ruled out a return to Italy anytime soon.

Ogbonna has now been with the Irons for over five years, moving to London in 2015 from Juventus in a deal worth €11m. He has played over 150 league games for the Hammers and won a return to the Italy squad for October's Nations League internationals. It was the first time Ogbonna had featured for the Azzurri for two years.

While insisting his focus is now success with West Ham, Ogbonna admits, however, he's keeping a close eye on Serie A.

He told Sky Italia via TMW: "It's a very balanced league and it's nice to see competition in a league like the Italian one. Milan are back to their levels. Juve is going through a difficult period but it is precisely in these moments that they get stronger."

Asked about his future, the former Torino stopper insists he and his family are happily settled in London and he's enjoying his football at West Ham under manager David Moyes.

Ogbonna added: "In my future I still see England.

"Then in football you never know. What matters is today, where I'm fine and my family is happy. Then we'll see."

Contracted to West Ham until 2022, Ogbonna has managed 16 appearances this season, scoring twice.
