West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna remains hopeful of winning back a place in Italy's squad.
The former Juventus stopper hasn't played for Italy since 2016.
“Italy is an objective for me," Ogbonna insisted, speaking to Sky Italia.
“We're going through a difficult period at West Ham, but I still think about the national team, even if there are a lot of good players and the competition is high.
“It's not me who makes the choices, but I put forward my candidacy for a call-up."
