West Ham are closing on a deal for AS Roma striker Edin Dzeko.
The Hammers are hoping to bolster their goal-shy attack with the signing of the former Premier League champion, who won the title with current West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini, says The Sun.
They will also be joined by Inter Milan, according to Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, who suggest Dzeko is open to leaving but is still "hoping" to be offered a new contract with Roma.
West Ham lead the two-horse race as Inter must first sell rebel striker Mauro Icardi in order to gain the necessary funds for the ex-Manchester City striker.
The Hammers face their own adversity, though, as they would have to convince Roma to sell Dzeko at an affordable price to accommodate the players £165,000 wages.
