West Ham United are nearing a deal to sign Atletico Madrid attacker Raul Jimenez on a season-long loan according to reports.

The Hammers are expected to pay around £1.5million to ensure the Madrid side are willing to part with Jimenez with the proposed deal expected to be completed shorty.

The news comes shortly after Jimenez was granted a work permit to join West Ham. He will become the East London club's ninth signing of the summer so far.

West Ham are desperate to lure a new attacker to Upton Park following injuries to Andy Carroll and Enner Valencia in a bid to ease the scoring burden on Diafra Sakho.
