West Ham captain on target while keeper Adrian scores in Noble testimonial at Upton Park

Mark Noble scored in his own testimonial as his West Ham United side defeated the West Ham All-Stars 6-5 at Upton Park's Boleyn Ground on Tuesday afternoon.

The Hammers captain was honoured by a sellout crowd of more than 35,000 while club legends past and present were all on hand to pay tribute to the 28-year-old midfielder.

Noble came up with a lovely finish with the outside of his right foot to beat David James all ends up before current teammate Adrian made an end-to-end run, dazzling his way past almost every player on the pitch before firing low from inside the area to notch a goal himself.

Earlier, Craig Bellamy produced a lovely finish to out the old boys up 1-0 before Alex Song slotted between the legs of James to give West Ham a 3-1 lead after the goals from Noble and keeper Adrian.

Manuel Lanzini then produced a lovely backheel for Noble to cut back for Diafra Sakho before the Senegalese striker rifled home from close range before producing a phone to take a selfie alongside some of his teammates in true 21st century style.

By far the best goal of the day came when Dean Ashton produced a sublime acrobatic side volley, rolling back the years, before making it 5-4 with a simple finish after a Kevin Keen run.

Hammers hero Paolo Di Canio then gave the crowd what they wanted by putting Noble's team up 6-4 with a neat finish after a strong run into the box.

There was a touching moment not long after when Taylor Tombides, the brother of former West Ham youngster Dylan who passed away from testicular cancer, chipped the keeper and then pointed to the sky to remember the talented Australian.

The match finished with a hilarious penalty shootout which ended 7-7 with the highlights being Adrian's blasted effort into the crowd followed by a sliding knees celebration and a couple of Noble's old friends converting and saving from 12 yards.
