West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola has called for critics to understand the emotion of Didier Drogba after the Chelsea striker targeted referee Tom Henning Ovrebo following the Champions League defeat to Barcelona.
Chelsea legend Zola added: "It's been a cold shower for everybody, including me. It was a big blow but they don't have to be too disappointed because they played the right way and were unlucky.
"We are all human beings, it is understandable that they went so close and I can understand some reactions. It is easy to judge from outside but sometimes you have to understand what people are going through emotionally."
