West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini says Andriy Yarmolenko proved his class in victory at Everton.

Yarmolenko scored twice on his first Premier League start last weekend as the Hammers overcame Everton at Goodison Park.

Pellegrini says it comes as no surprise to him that the Ukrainian - signed from Borussia Dortmund in the summer - has hit form.

"I said before that it would take Yarmolenko a few weeks to get used to the Premier League.

"He has a lot of quality and he demonstrated that. This performance showed he is a top player," said Pellegrini.
