West Ham boss Pellegrini: Anderson will give us new dimension

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is delighted with the arrival of Felipe Anderson from Lazio.

Anderson signed for a reported £33.5million – potentially rising to £42m – from Lazio on Sunday.

And Pellegrini said: “We feel he will bring a new dimension to the squad, but he will also complement the attacking players we already have.

“Felipe has a natural and skilful ability – in the traditional style of Brazilian football. But he has also proven at Lazio that he has the strength and mentality to play at the top level in European football."

Anderson is the latest recruit at the London Stadium, where he joins new signings Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski, Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko, Issa Diop and Fabian Balbuena.

Pellegrini added: “We are very happy with the players signed since I arrived and it gives us great confidence ahead of the new season.

“The club have made a very big investment.

“It has been a very successful week, with four new players arriving, and we look forward to implementing their qualities into our plans."
