West Ham boss Moyes: Man Utd gave Ole time

West Ham United boss David Moyes has hit out at Manchester United over his past sacking.

The 57-year-old, now in charge of West Ham, was hired to replace Sir Alex Ferguson after his retirement in 2013, but lasted only ten months in the job.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday's game, the Scotsman has reflected on his time at United, and insisted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now reaping the rewards from the level of backing he never had.

He said: "It's a wonderful club and a brilliant place to be, and the biggest club in the world, for me.

"It's always a special place to go and I'm looking forward to going back.

"Ole had a difficult start, but the difference between Ole and me is that he's being given time."

Moyes has also heaped praise on the current United incumbent for paving the way for several academy starlets to break into the first team.

"He's bringing players in from the Academy, which Manchester United has always stood for," he added. "They've got some really exciting young players of their own now."
