West Ham boss Moyes knows significance of Southampton clash

West Ham boss David Moyes isn't avoiding the significance of their clash with bottom of the table Southampton.

Saints, which has had three managers this season, can leapfrog West Ham with victory on Sunday.

"I don't like seeing managers lose their job because I am one myself but clubs have to make decisions and have their own reasons for it," Moyes said. "It is never good hearing a club making three managerial changes in a year.

Turning his attention to West Ham and their recent wins over Everton and Forest, Moyes added: "The players have always played for me. If they didn't I would change them or do something else.

"All the games we have had nearly have gone into the category of 'must-win' in some way. This one could be that as well. I am hoping with the two games we have at home this week (Southampton and then Newcastle) that we can start with a win and get ready to build from that."
