West Ham boss David Moyes is urging Joe Cole to quit his role with Chelsea's academy.

The Sun says Cole is considering an invitation to join West Ham as part of Moyes' coaching team.

Moyes has held talks with the former Hammers star as he looks to put together his backroom staff at the London Stadium.

Cole is currently working as an academy coach at Chelsea having set his sights on a career in the dugout after retiring from playing.

But the 38-year-old has now been offered the chance to rejoin the club where he started his career to work under Moyes.

The Scot is still looking at bringing in two more staff members having taken over on an 18-month contract at the turn of the year.
