West Ham boss Moyes: Can Italian do this over long-term?

West Ham boss David Moyes says he's full of respect for Italian football.

West Ham meet Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final next Wednesday in Prague.

Moyes said, "I think there are a lot of really good, young managers out there. It's great to watch. They're all challenging us.

Coming in and doing it for a short period is not easy, but it's easier. You have to be able to do it over a long period. Football has been around a long time and it won't change too greatly.

"Italian football has its own DNA and it has been very positive this season. They have teams in all three European finals and the Italian team won the Euros not long ago.

"Italian football has some very good players at the minute, as it always has done."

On the chance of West Ham making history, Moyes also said: "Hopefully everybody will look back and say that was what was said has been delivered. I do believe the players have got a great opportunity to be remembered by everybody at this Club.

"There are a new generation of West Ham supporters now in east London and London Stadium is filled every week, which shows you just how well considered West Ham is in this part of London.

"We've got a really good group of players, who are hungry to succeed. I hope we can show that on Wednesday night."
