West Ham boss David Moyes has called on fans to cut him some slack next season.
The atmosphere at the London Stadium has often been toxic since the controversial move from Upton Park five years ago, but Moyes has now called for time to continue progressing, even if they fall lower than sixth next year.
“If I was a West Ham supporter and David Moyes had come in and saved us from relegation once, came in and saved us from relegation twice and then first full season qualify for Europe, I'd be hoping you'd give him a bit of breathing space," Moyes told TalkSport.
“Even at Everton I couldn't get them in Europe the first year so it has been a huge step. I would hope West Ham supporters are going to say we're going to give him an opportunity to build on it.
“There is so much room for growth at West Ham."
