West Ham United boss Avram Grant says their failure in the market has affected their poor start to the season.
Although Grant has managed to sign six players, none of whom started against United, West Ham already look condemned to an ugly fight for survival.
"We didn't find the players in the positions we needed, so it's been more difficult than I expected," said Grant.
