West Ham United boss Alan Curbishley has played down talk of interest in Reading left-back Nicky Shorey.

"Well, we had one playing for Northern Ireland last night," he told whufc.com. "I'm very happy with George McCartney. We also have Jonathan Spector, who was also on international duty this week. We have that position quite covered."
