West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has advised fans that Cheikhou Kouyate will be sidelined for up to six weeks.
The 24-year old Senegalese midfielder sustained a groin injury in Saturday's 3-1 home win over Liverpool and is now expected to be out until early November.
Gold posted the following on Twitter:
Bad news. C.Kouyate will be out for 6 weeks.
He will probably miss 5 games and might be available for Aston Villa at home 8 nov. dg

Kouyate joined the Hammers from Anderlecht in the summer and had started all five Premier League matches prior to his injury but Gold expects Sam Allardyce's squad to deal with the loss.
In the past losing a player like C.Kouyate would be devastating but now we have quality back up. Cheikhoe get well soon. dg
