West Ham United are attempting to get West Brom defender Jonny Evans on a cheap deal of around £3 million.
It is an interesting tactic from West Ham, given how Evans' employers were asking for closer to £30 million in the January window when the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City were interested.
There is a report in the Daily Mirror suggesting that if West Brom were to get relegated, Evans can leave on a knockdown fee. And West Ham want to take advantage of that fact.
But if Evans is available for less than the January asking price, there would be a whole host of clubs interested. Despite West Brom's struggles, he is highly rated for his performances since joining them from Manchester United.
