West Brom young gun Berahino has adoration for Toronto's Defoe

West Bromwich Albion youngster Saido Berahino admits one of his favourite players to watch is Jermain Defoe.

The England U21 international, who has four Premier League goals so far this season, says he grew up with an adoration for the former Tottenham goal ace who is now with MLS club Toronto FC.

"I love watching Jermain Defoe," Berahino told the Daily Mirror.

"It's such a shame he had to leave the Premier League but I still keep track of how he gets on over in Canada."

Defoe, who left Spurs for TFC in January this year, has netted 11 goals in 16 appearances for the Canadian outfit who sit sixth on the Eastern Conference table.
