Sky Sports is reporting West Bromwich Albion are in talks with former Newcastle man Shola Ameobi over a short term contract. The 33-year-old forward has been a free agent since leaving Turkish side Gaziantep Buyuksehir Belediyespor in December.
Ameobi managed 79 goals in 397 appearances during his 14 years at Newcastle and also played under current Baggies boss Tony Pulis when he was loaned to Stoke in 2008, making six appearances.
