West Brom striker Dwight Gayle unsure of Newcastle future

West Brom striker Dwight Gayle admits his future at parent club Newcastle United is clouded.

He has netted nine goals so far this term for the Sky Bet Championship promotion contenders.

Gayle's loan deal with the Baggies does not contain a buyout clause for the Hawthorns side and he will be due to return to St James' Park at the end of the season.

Asked by reporters in the Midlands if he would consider playing for West Brom on a permanent basis, he replied: "Yeah of course it's crossed my mind.

"It's something that will be on the cards but I suppose I've just got to get this season out of the way and let others get on with what they've got to do and we'll see how things go.

"I'm very happy playing my football here and I'm thoroughly enjoying it."
