West Brom offering Matheus Pereira new contract

West Brom are offering Matheus Pereira a new contract.

The Mirror says West Brom are offering Pereira a 50% pay-rise despite the Brazilian still acclimatising to the Premier League.

Pereira scored eight goals and had 16 assists to help inspire the Baggies to promotion last season on loan before completing an £8.25million deal from Sporting Lisbon in a permanent transfer on a four-year deal.

Both the fee and Pereira's wages of around £30,000-a-week were agreed when his initial loan was negotiated.

But Albion have since tabled an offer of £45,000-a-week with an extra year to put the 24-year-old closer to the club's top earners.

Pereira has so far managed one goal and three assists in 13 Premier League appearances this term for 19th-placed Albion.
