West Brom offered chance to sign Watford striker Deeney

West Bromwich Albion could take up the option of signing Troy Deeney from Watford.

The Baggies have been given encouragement by the recently relegated Hornets to sign their captain, according to the Daily Mail.

It is unclear if West Brom, who are recently promoted to the Premier League, will follow through.

32-year-old Deeney wants to stay in the Premier League.

The issue is that even though Baggies boss Slaven Bilic admires Deeney, he wants to lower not raise the age of his squad.

West Brom do not want to put big money on quick fixes that would harm them if they were to go straight back down.
