West Brom new boy McManaman buoyed by Premier League return

Callum McManaman has spoken of his delight at returning to the Premier League after completing his move from Wigan Athletic to West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies have signed the 23-year old winger on a three-and-a-half-year deal for a fee of £4.75million which gives the former Blackpool loanee the opportunity to add to his English top flight tally of ??? appearances.

McManaman admitted it was difficult to walk out the DW Stadium exit door after spending almost the past decade with the Latics but was looking forward to again showing his wares on the big stage.

"Once the chance came to return to the Premier League then I had to go for it," he said.

"It's exciting. I have to admit it was hard to leave Wigan after being there for eight years because I liked the club, fans, everything.

"But joining up with Tony (Pulis) was a pull, he's someone who gets results and he seems like a top bloke as well. The Premier League, though, was the main factor for me. I've missed it a lot to be honest.

"It's massive because everyone wants to play in the Premier League, so I'm looking forward to getting going again."
