Premier League rivals are circling for Chelsea midfielder Mario Pasalic.
The Daily Star says West Brom and Middlesbrough were both keen on signing Pasalic this summer.
Despite his failure to break into Jose Mourinho or Antonio Conte's plans during his Stamford Bridge career, a host of clubs were apparently keen on securing his services before he joined AC Milan on loan at the end of August.
Asked if any other teams were vying against the Serie A giants for his signature, Vincenzo Cavaleiro told Calciomercato.com: "Yes, both we and Chelsea had contacts with seven clubs.
"It's not easy at the moment to leave [Roman] Abramovich's club, they believe in Pasalic for the future.
"We had almost closed with PSV but I was also asked by Torino, Eibar, Sporting Gijon, West Bromwich Albion and Middlesbrough."
