West Bromwich Albion are set to secure the services of free agent David Vaughan after his contract at Blackpool expired.
The Baggies have reportedly held talks with the 28-year old Welshman who is believed to be very interested in a move to the West Midlands club.
Vaughan won Blackpool's Player of the Year award plus a host of others at the relegated club's awards night and even though they have offered him a new deal, the prospect of going down the Championship apparently doesn't appeal to him.
Sunderland are also believed to be showing interest but sources have suggested to the Express and Star that The Hawthorns is his destination of choice.
