West Bromwich Albion legend Ally Robertson feels Nicolas Anelka's departure is good for the club.
Anelka was sacked by WBA over the weekend.
"It's a hard way for it to happen, but you have to think it is probably the best thing for both," Robertson told the Express & Star.
"In football these days with the amount of cameras you have around the ground, you must surely know anything you do is going to be picked up.
"Whatever his intentions were there is no question his actions left a mark against the club."
