West Brom join scramble for Man Utd winger James

West Brom are interested in Manchester United winger Daniel James.

New Baggies boss Sam Allardyce has made an enquiry for the Welsh international ahead of the upcoming transfer window, says the Daily Star.

They can expect a fair amount of competition for James, who also has former admirers Leeds, Brighton and Burnley interested in a short-term loan.

Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa has long been a fan of the pacey Welshman, having all but signed him for Championship side Swansea in January 2019, all for the deal to fall through in the final moments of the window.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still yet to make a call on James' status for the remainder of the season and is unsure if he will be needed to help United make a push at the top of the Premier League.
