West Bromwich Albion are demanding a sweetener if Newcastle United want to complete a swap deal for Salomon Rondon.
Magpies manager Rafa Benitez has expressed a desire to make Rondon's loan move from West Brom permanent, with the Venezuelan having notched his fifth goal of the season against Huddersfield on Saturday.
Dwight Gayle was sent to the Hawthorns from Toon in the summer, and has been as equally as effective for the Baggies.
Regardless, the Express & Star claim West Brom want Newcastle to put money on top of any potential permanent swap deal for the strikers.
Toon are believed to be unable to provide any funds while owner Mike Ashley continues talks to sell the club.
