West Brom could announce the capture of Atletico Madrid defender Pablo Ibanez today.

The Birmingham Mail says Albion were last night putting the final pieces of paperwork together in a bid to unveil Spanish centre-back Ibanez as their first proper summer signing.

Pablo's free transfer from Atletico Madrid should be finalised some time today.

It marks a cute piece of business by the club and follows the snapping up of Ireland international Steven Reid and Romanian international Gabriel Tamas on long term contracts.
