West Bromwich Albion are chasing Aston Villa fullback Alan Hutton.
The Birmingham Mail says Hutton would be a controversial pursuit given that he incurred the wrath of Albion fans when he fouled, and injured, Shane Long during a derby game at Villa Park back in 2011.
The 29-year-old has not played a competitive game for Villa under Paul Lambert, having been sidelined to the infamous 'Bomb Squad' by his boss.
The Scotland international has one year left on a four-year £40k-a-week Villa deal but would almost certainly need to take a pay-cut if Albion were to sign him.
