West Brom defender Shelton Martis will remain at The Hawthorns for the next 12 months.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray said the club would honour Martis' extra year option on his contract.
"It's nothing that needs to be done urgently, but as far as I am concerned there is no decision to make other than saying we will pick up Shelton's year option," he told the Birmingham Mail.
"He is a young footballer in terms of experience and the signs are there that that penny is dropping and that he understands the maturity required to play for our team.
"And he has all the attributes and assets you require to play in central defence."
