West Brom defender Neil Clement hopes to play a part in their relegation battle this season.
Clement is recovering from early season knee surgery and told the Birmingham Mail: "It's true I'd like to play this season but I don't want to get my hopes up and then end up feeling devastated because I didn't get back.
"But I have just started jogging. It's February now and I am looking at two months from now, which is April.
"That only leaves a month of the season but that would still be nice.
"It happened last year when I came back and we managed to go up, which was a nice feeling.
"It would be nice to come back and do the same this year as well, but we will see what happens.
"It's five months since my operation. Normally with this injury they reckon six to nine months before you get back.
"I'm making sure I do everything right because if I rush back too soon I could really do quite a bit of damage."
