West Bromwich Albion captain Scott Carson admits he was pleased to break back into the England squad last week.
Carson is desperate to forget the nightmare show he had against Croatia at Wembley when he let Niko Kranjcar's soft shot straight through him as Steve McClaren's England lost 3-2 and failed to reach Euro 2008.
He said: "I feel good but I am not going to get carried away. I am trying to play consistently well over the season.
"I was delighted to get back in the squad, I wasn't expecting it this early but I was delighted to get back in.
"In the past you pretty much knew the team before you went there but now the manager is blooding a lot of young players. All the places are up for grabs."
