West Brom boss Tony Mowbray has explained why he's allowed Craig Beattie to sign on-loan with Sheffield United.
"Sometimes, it's best for footballers to be out playing," he told the WBA website. "Hopefully, Craig will play some games and score some goals on a regular basis and if we need to recall him, we will.
"Then he will be more ready to help our team. At the moment, he is going to be training with nothing at the end of the week except maybe playing for the reserves.
"I feel this is an opportunity for him to play at a really good level in a Sheffield United team with an expectation level. Hopefully, if we require him to come back and play for us, he will be fit, ready and up to match speed.
"Sometimes, it's better for players to be out there playing and scoring, particularly strikers, and their confidence being high."
