West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine is ready to name Brown Ideye in his squad for their Premier League opener with Sunderland.
Ideye scored twice and Stephane Sessegnon once as the under-21s beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at the Baggies' training ground yesterday.
"We're going to have to put people in our squad who haven't done as much in pre-season as I'd have liked," admitted Irvine.
"Brown is ahead of where we feared he might be, which is great news. Hopefully he'll be able to play some part, as with some of the other boys who have missed pre-season will be."
