West Bromwich Albion boss Roy Hodgson has ruled out selling fullback Nicky Shorey.

While he hopes to snap up Chelsea left-back Ryan Bertrand, Hodgson does not plan to sell Shorey.

Shorey has been linked with a return to Nottingham Forest.

Shorey, 30, said: "Last season was very competitive and it's important that we try to improve."
