West Brom are anticipating a bid from Newcastle United for Salomon Rondon.

The Express & Star says West Brom officials expect Newcastle to switch their attentions to Salomon Rondon after missing out on Alassane Plea.

Nice striker Plea is looking likely to join Tottenham, leaving Rafa Benitez still searching for his new goalscorer for next season.

Rondon is said to be happy at Albion, even after relegation, but he has a £16.5m release clause in his contract and should the Magpies match it Albion will be powerless.

As such, WBA are already making back up plans for if Rondon does go by identifying potential replacements.
