Newcastle United are battling Lazio for Club Brugge star Wesley Soares.

The Daily Star says Toon boss Rafa Benitez is keen to bolster his attacking options in the coming months and United are firmly in the hunt to land Club Brugge forward Moraes.

And barring any late, unexpected approaches, Newcastle or Lazio will be the destination of the player come the beginning of next season.

Moraes has also been eyed by West Ham and Leverkusen in recent weeks, however both clubs have been unsuccessful in their attempts to convince the player to join them.

Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for the 22-year-old last summer - but the Gunners have not renewed their interest this year.
