Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf s determined not to lose his stars to Premier League clubs.
Arsenal are chasing Werder defender Per Mertesacker, while Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson made a check on Mesut Ozil at Fulham last week.
Schaaf told Sky Sports News: "(I) can't give you some new information, only that he is one player of Werder Bremen and he plays for Werder Bremen."
Asked if he thinks Ozil will be a Werder player on September 1, he replied: "Yes, I think so yes."
As regards Mertesacker, Schaaf said: "You know, now we are in the time of speculations.
"At the moment the (Premier) League doesn't play so everybody is looking for some news and what could happen.
"So you can be sure Per Mertesacker will play for Werder Bremen and so its I think no speculation about it."
