Werder Bremen management are delighted with their swoop for Manchester United winger Tahith Chong.

The Holland U21 international has joined Werder on a season-long loan.

Werder sports chief Frank Baumann declared: “We are very happy that Tahith has chosen us. He is a very talented, capable player who was able to gain first-hand experience at Manchester United at the highest level.

"He now has to get used to the Bundesliga and take the next step in his development."

Werder coach Florian Kohfeldt is eager to work with Chong.

He also stated: “He is a technically good player who can play in both wide positions. He also has a fast pace that will be good for our game. He still has development potential in his defensive work. He is still at the beginning of his career and we want to support him to further tap his potential."
