Wenger tells Arsenal board to go with Vieira

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger wants to see Patrick Vieira replace him next season.

beINSPORTS says the Gunners board are split on who should take over from the Frenchman after he announced that he will stand down at the end of the season following 22 years at the helm.

Vieira, 41, has emerged as a contender for the role following two years of experience as a frontline boss after taking over MLS side New York City in 2016.

And Wenger publicly backed Vieira yesterday when quizzed about whether he had what it takes to boss the Premier League giants.
