Arsene Wenger says Carlo Ancelotti's appointment will be a big coup for Everton.
The 60-year-old was sacked by Napoli last week, despite leading the club to the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
And although he reportedly intended to wait until the end of the season before pursuing a new job in management, he could be poised to take the reins at Goodison Park and succeed Marco Silva.
“Well it was quite a surprise that he had to leave Napoli," Wenger told Sky Sports when asked about the prospect of the Italian joining Everton.
“Everton are looking for a manager as well.
"So overall he will be a tremendous catch for Everton."
