Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has made Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Lars Bender a priority target.
The Daily Mail says Wenger has made a new defensive midfielder a priority this summer, as well as at least one central striker.
And the Gunners will make a move to bring the Germany international to London ahead of next season.
Arsenal failed with an £18.5million bid last year, but Wenger is desperate to bring the 25-year-old to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
