Wenger linked as Bayern Munich call emergency media conference today

Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is being linked with Niko Kovac's job at Bayern Munich today.

BILD says club president Uli Hoeness, chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic will all attend the press conference, which is scheduled for 11am UK time.

The last time all three men held a joint press conference was to announce that Jupp Heynckes was returning as manager.

There has been fevered speculation around Wenger ever since he left Arsenal last summer.

Kovac, a former Bayern player, only took the job in the summer after leaving Eintracht Frankfurt, but despite no immediate indication that his position is under threat, there have been concerns that he isn't up to the job of motivating Bayern's ageing squad.
