Wenger highlights importance of squad rotation as Arsenal defender Koscielny injures hamstring

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has defended his squad rotation following the 3-2 defeat against Olympiakos.

Following the game, Wenger was heavily criticised for his squad selection as he chose goalkeeper David Ospina ahead of Petr Cech for the vital Champions League clash.

The Gunners also lost defender Laurent Koscielny to a hamstring injury in the second half which highlights Wenger's need to continually rotate his players.

When asked about the defender's injury, Wenger said: "It is a hamstring. This is why I rotate as we play many games.

"The other teams do it as well. You look at the other teams in Europe's benches and you will see them rotate.

"You cannot play every three days without rotating your players That is a fact and you have to accept that."
