Wenger eyeing further midfield targets despite arrival of Elneny

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is still looking to further strengthen his midfield despite the £7million signing of Mohamed Elneny, according to reports from the Daily Telegraph.

Arsenal completed their first outfield signing of the season by securing the services of midfielder Elneny from Swiss club Basel on Thursday but still Wenger is keen on more midfield acquisitions.

Despite the arrival of the 23-year-old Egypt international, Wenger is still in the hunt to sign another midfielder due to constant injuries to the likes of Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky.

The Arsenal boss is also concerned about losing Mathieu Flamini at the end of the season and is looking to stock up in the centre of the pitch this winter.
