Wenger expecting tour of Asia to strengthen bond of Arsenal squad

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is confident that the offseason tour of Asia will help strengthen the bond of his players.

The Premier League outfit travel to the far East next month for a two-week stint and Wenger is hopeful that his squad will closely unite ahead of a crucial 2013/14 season as well as picking up other benefits along the way.

"First of all, it's always nice to see that you are loved and famous all over the world," the Frenchman told Arsenal Player. "When you live in your bubble you don't always realise just how big Arsenal is.

"It's a good period for them and I believe that for a young boy to discover different cultures and different ways of thinking, having an exchange of experiences with other people who have a completely different culture, can only benefit them.

"Also on that front, to live together within a completely different environment for a couple of weeks will profit the team as well."

The Gunners take on an Indonesian XI in Jakarta on July 14, before heading to Hanoi to meet the Vietnam national team on July 17. Five days later they are up against Wenger's former side Nagoya Grampus in Japan prior to the July 26 clash with Urawa Reds in Saitama.
