Legendary former manager Arsene Wenger has backed Arsenal to challenge for the Premier League next term.

The Gunners are now second in the top flight, as Manchester City are on a significant winning run and also beat the Gunners last week.

The North Londoners were eight points clear at the top at one stage, but a string of draws and then a loss to City have dented their title hopes.

Wenger told Sky Sports: "I think we have in every position of the team, a player who has the quality to deliver the trophy.

"If it's not this year, it will be maybe next year, but the quality is there, you know, and the team is especially going forward, very young.

“But I like the way they play, they are mobile, they make intelligent decisions around the box, they play well together and all the ingredients are there."
